PC Pump Gas Separator

The PC Pump Gas Separator has been designed as a continuous flow downhole gas separator to be used in conjunction with progressive cavity pumps. They use centrifugal forces to separate the gas from the produced liquids, before they enter the pump. Liquids will be carried through into the pump suction while the separated gases are forced to migrate up the annulus.

The Evolution PC Pump Gas Separator is a continuous flow downhole gas separator for use with progressing cavity pumps.

The PC Pump Gas Separator uses centrifugal forces to separate the gas from produced liquids, before they enter the pump.

Using the tool allows gas-free production fluids to be carried into the pump station while the separated gases are forced to migrate up the annulus.

Eliminating the associated gases before entering the pump has the following advantages:

 

  • Pump efficiency and pump rate will be increased.
  • Elimination of CO2 and H2S gasses which can cause premature degradation of the stator elastomer.

 

There are two configurations of the PC Pump Gas Separator:

 

  • Heavy oil configuration for oil less than 24˚API.
  • Light oil configurations for oil greater than 24° API.
